Haven't been on for a while but I'm sure when I used to enter a sighting it told me if I've already seen it giving me the option not to record it. Now I've noticed that this doesn't happen and when I look at my full log there are duplicate entries. Any way I can have this facility again.

    Hi Teabreak,

Just checked and it does using the Chrome Extension but not when adding manually.
We have updated the program so it does now say "you have already seen it" when adding manually

Can you try it again and let us know if it works OK now

    Hi Richard and Teabreak,

Along similar lines I have a question. I call up my full log every few months, condense it to show just registrations then laboriously rearrange them into columns of 50. My 3000+ registrations then take up 3 pages of A4 which I then use for quick reference when I am spotting.

I noticed last week that the full log now lists which aircraft are "active", a great idea because I can delete any non-active registrations. This involved some 600 regs that I deleted by hand. Question; Can that column be utilised to automatically delete non-active registrations from the list?

    Regards, Tony.

    Hi Tony15

Do you use the Export to Excel option.
If you do you can filter the data on "Status" to show only the active registrations.

Did we provide you with a macro in Excel that would put your sightings into columns of 50?
If we did then this can be used to produce your list

Let us know if this would work for you

    Cheers
    Rich

    Hi Richard,
Yes I do export my log to excel. Yes you did give me a macro for putting the list into blocks of 50. The only problem is that it listed only 49 and missed number 50!

When I came to live in Spain I left in storage a great many books, amongst them was "Excel for Dummies" which was invaluable and I do miss it. I have two friends here who were programmers in an earlier life. I may be able to get help from them. Of course I could always buy a new book!

Because of the demise of several airlines during the past two years my full log shows a total of 3538 registrations whereas only 2907 are currently active. Not being romantic about each registration, to my mind, if an aircraft is sold off register, then it has to be seen again in it´s new registration and colour scheme of it´s new owner. This year of course Easyjet and Norwegian are causing a few problems.

    Regards, Tony.

    Hi Richard,

I have spent all afternoon trying to find the file but currently it is lurking somewhere in the usual Windows 10 black hole. Why can´t W10 have a logical filing system as in W7? I will forward the file when I find it.

    Regards, Tony.
